In what will be his penultimate race with M-Sport Ford in the World Rally Championship (WRC), Ott Tänak faces the Central Europe Rally this week. Following his second victory of the season, he is only nine points away from the final podium of the championship.
The Estonian, who is leaving the team, emphasized that he intends to maximize the last two rounds of the year: ‘It has been a while since we have been on asphalt, and this rally will be new on the calendar. It will be a great challenge for us, and our clear goal is to extract the most from these last two races.’
As for the Central Europe Rally, Tänak has low expectations regarding its characteristics: ‘It is very difficult to expect anything from this rally, as everything will be new, and I am sure that the weather will also play a big role – so we need to be on point to achieve all the targets.’
The 2019 world champion also said: ‘Chile was the last gravel race this season, and we were able to celebrate success with the team, which was a good feeling. But the work is not done yet – we have two more races, and we will continue to strive.’
