The last race before the summer break didn’t go so well for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, with Brad Binder ninth and Jack Miller finishing 13th. An ‘unexpected’ weekend, Francesco Guidotti revealed, as he believed the pair would be with the front group, admitting that perhaps the team had been too ‘chatty’ on the first day of work.
Commenting on the weekend at the Sachsenring, the Austrian team’s Team Manager admitted to some negative surprises, while explaining that on Sunday the duo had the best possible bike: ‘The weekend was quite unexpected. We thought we’d be in the leading group and it wasn’t to be. At least on sunday we provided the best version of the bike to the riders that we’ve had this weekend, so perhaps we were too conservative on Friday’.
Despite the improvements, the result on the track fell short, and the focus is already on the return in Great Britain: ‘Sunday was pretty good but it was not enough. We lost too much time but looking ahead we have homework to do […]. We want to be ready for Silverstone’.
At the end of the first half of the season, KTM has its best rider in Pedro Acosta (GASGAS Tech3, sixth), with Binder just behind (seventh, minus two points), Miller is 16th and Augusto Fernández (GASGAS Tech3) is 17th, with 20 points less than the #43.
