The images show us a bike with a fairing, a double front headlight similar to that of the 765 and not much else. So, surprisingly, what does the British brand have in store for us? Can we assume the arrival of a racing bike? A road-going sports bike? The new Daytona?
The first element concerns the road context of the main image, which already puts us in a certain frame of mind. Secondly, it’s a full fairing; you can even see the profile of the lower tank, so there’s no doubt about that either. Thirdly, it will have a supersport-style semi-handlebar, as you can see from the rider’s classic posture and the profile of the front brake lever, which also looks quite high in the profile of the bike, certainly above the line of the upper skid plate, reminiscent of the classic layout of road sports bikes.
Another detail, perhaps the most important and the least likely to be misinterpreted, scrolling through the images in the post’s gallery, the word 660 appears. So it’s not hard to speculate that this mysterious motorcycle will probably be equipped with the in-line three-cylinder engine that equips the Triumph Trident 660 and that for the latter guarantees 81 hp of power at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of torque.
In short, based on the little information we have, we can hypothesize the arrival of a fairing based on the 660, a road-going sports bike capable of satisfying the desires of many enthusiasts who are looking for a beautiful sports bike to enjoy on public roads and perhaps also on circuits where, let’s remember, this type of bike has often generated small championships, trophies, beautiful events aimed at a public that can’t or doesn’t want to spend a lot, but doesn’t want to give up their passion for motorsport.
It remains to be seen what this bike will be called: will Triumph give us the name Daytona? Many hope so, and indeed, it would be a good idea… We’ll have to wait until January 9th to find out all the details of this new Triumph, so stay tuned!
