Marco Bezzecchi was struggling physically at the MotoGP San Marino GP, as a result of the left hand injury he suffered a week ago at the Catalunya GP. Nevertheless, the Italian was resilient and finished second in Sunday’s main race at Misano.
The Mooney VR46 Racing Team man emphasised to the official broadcast that it was a result he really wanted, despite the pain he was feeling:
– I’m really, really happy. I gave everything from start to finish. When I overtook Pecco [Bagnaia], luckily with fresh air my front tyre breathed a bit and I was able to do a good pace even though the pain was getting worse and worse. But I really wanted this podium with all my heart, for my team and for all the fans. I’m very, very happy. Thank you all, really, from the bottom of my heart.
