This morning, Pertamina Enduro VR46 was announced as the Ducati Factory Supported Team in MotoGP starting from 2025. Shortly after, in an interview with Canal+, Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi mentioned that there would be a factory bike for Fabio Di Giannantonio and a 2024 bike for Franco Morbidelli.
This was an apparent unofficial confirmation of VR46’s riders for 2025. However, team director Uccio Salucci told the championship’s website broadcast that nothing has been signed yet:
– Tardozzi spoke a little bit too early, but for sure we want to go this way. We want to go with these riders, but there’s nothing fixed right now – no contract, nothing. We’ll work a little bit in the next two weeks and after that we confirm the situation.
Regarding Morbidelli specifically, Salucci did not hide his appreciation for the rider and his desire to sign him: ‘My heart is always for Morbidelli for many, many years, because he was one of the first riders coming to the Academy. And I want to try to take Franco for the next year, but it’s not easy. Take it easy, take it easy’.
