All the riders who will compete for pole position in the Moto2 British Grand Prix have been determined. Fermín Aldeguer led Q1 in Silverstone and progresses along with three other competitors.
The first leader of Q1 was Bo Bendsneyder (Preicanos Racing Team/Kalex), ahead of Aldeguer (GT Trevisan SpeedUp/Boscoscuro). Albert Arenas (QJMotor Gresini/Kalex) and Mario Aji (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia/Kalex) were also in the qualifying zone.
With his second lap, Aldeguer moved to the lead, but there were no more changes in the top four until the last minutes.
Arenas moved up to second, pushing Bendsneyder to third, while Jeremy Alcoba (Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team/Kalex) climbed to fourth. Aji was thus out of the qualifying zone. Aldeguer then set a better time to secure the first place, 0.039s ahead of Arenas.
Bendsneyder and Alcoba also secured their place in Q2. Barry Baltus (RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP/Kalex) improved with his last lap but finished fifth, 0.331s short of advancing.
