Honda needs to make significant strides to return to the front in MotoGP. However, it does not seem inclined to shift more development focus to Europe, unlike other manufacturers, including Yamaha – according to Joan Mir.
When asked in a press conference about whether they discussed the possibility of accelerating development by moving part of the process to Europe, the Majorcan explained: ‘Well, we proposed that, but for the moment they will not do it. So, that is a bit the end of the story’.
After ten rounds, Honda is at the bottom of the MotoGP constructors’ championship with just 26 points and has no results in the top ten of a main race. Yamaha is in fourth place with 53 points.
Throughout the second half of the season, the golden-winged manufacturer has several updates planned for the RC213V, hoping to finish the year in a much more competitive position than currently.
