It is now officially known that Miguel Oliveira will not continue with Trackhouse Racing in MotoGP in 2025 – where Ai Ogura was announced this Thursday as Raúl Fernández’s teammate for 2025 and 2026.
When asked if leaving the American team was a mutual decision, the #88 replied: ‘Yes, I would say so. Finally it came in a natural way. Once Trackhouse communicated to me that the idea and their plans for the future was to bring a young Moto2 rider, the way became very clear for me’.
However, according to Oliveira, Fernández’s renewal occurred after he became aware of the team’s intention to promote a Moto2 rider: ‘I don’t recall the timing on the top of my head, but I think Raúl happened later’.
The future of the Portuguese rider is still to be announced, with strong speculation that it will be with Pramac, Yamaha’s new satellite team. Oliveira commented on the matter:
– About my future, as you can imagine we are in really good negotiations with Yamaha for Pramac team, which I’m really proud of. But I still can’t have anything else to say until we officialize any agreement.
