The first free practice session of the Austrian MotoGP was interrupted with less than four minutes remaining after a heavy crash by Pedro Acosta at turn four of the Red Bull Ring.
The Red Bull GasGas rider fortunately escaped without major injuries, despite sliding several meters on the asphalt in a downhill section. However, the debris left on the track by his bike necessitated the red flag.
This was Acosta’s second crash within just a few minutes, at a time when he was sitting in sixth place on the timesheet. His best lap was 1m30.283s, placing him third among the KTM riders.
In the following video, you can watch or rewatch the Spanish rookie’s crash.
