Fourth in the morning test session at Misano, Jack Miller focussed mainly on how he rides the KTM RC16 and more aspects related to the bike’s configuration. He has a few more things to test in the afternoon, however, and he’s happy with the progress he’s made so far.
‘This test couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s good to be able to ride and focus on a few small things, focus on my riding and what we have in the setup. It’s been a good morning so far and I’ve enjoyed myself, the track was a bit dirty in the morning but it quickly got into good condition. The bike is working well, we’ve tested a few things here and there and there are a few more things to do in the afternoon, but I’m already faster than I’ve been all weekend with the medium tyre and I’m very happy with the progress so far’ said the number 43, before praising the team and the way they’re working hard, not forgetting that there’s more work and components to test in the afternoon:
– I’m very happy with the way things are going with the bike. We clearly have a base line that we’re focusing on as the main base, so to speak, and that’s the main thing. We have, as I said, a few things to test in the afternoon and the guys have been working hard, even all last night when they finished work at three in the morning, doing what they can to give me and Brad [Binder] the best.
Asked if he’s just testing a new chassis or a new engine, Miller replied: ‘That’s your job, you can come and have a look whenever you want, we don’t hide anything’.
Regarding the Indian GP, the next round of the world championship, Miller was short on words: ‘Let’s wait and see. I’ll bring some food, wash my hands and that’s pretty much it and I’ll be on a weight loss programme, that’s pretty much it [laughs]’.
