Zero Motorcycles has an interesting motorcycle in its lineup in the electric adventure bike segment: the Zero DS. This model impresses among off-road motorcycles with its cutting-edge technology and impressive performance.
At the heart of the DS is the Z-Force 14.4 battery, a lithium-ion pack that offers an urban range of 232 km, which can be extended with an optional Power Tank accessory. The Z-Force 75-7 motor delivers a robust 132 Nm of torque and 45 kW of power, allowing the bike to reach a top speed of 139 km/h.
The chassis has been specially reinforced to face off-road challenges, offering a category-leading ground clearance of 24.6 cm. The fully adjustable Showa suspension provides exceptional control on any type of terrain.
Safety hasn’t been forgotten, with a linked braking system controlled by Bosch’s Stability Control System, which acts instantly upon detecting loss of traction. The instrument panel is a 12.7 cm color TFT screen, offering multiple customization options.
For the most demanding adventurers, the Zero DS can be equipped with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires, transforming it into a true off-road beast. The Gates Carbon Drive Moto X9™ belt drive system promises to be the most durable in any electric motorcycle.
With 28 liters of integrated storage capacity and the possibility of adding travel cases, the DS is prepared for long journeys. The full LED lighting, with optional LED turn signals, ensures visibility in all conditions.
The Zero DS thus represents a significant step in the evolution of electric adventure motorcycles, combining range, power, and versatility in a silent and environmentally friendly package. Although the price has not been disclosed, this model is expected to compete directly with its combustion counterparts in the demanding Portuguese adventure motorcycle market.
