Marco Bezzecchi is already thinking about 2024, which will mark his third MotoGP season. He faces it with more experience and, naturally, a lot of ambition after finishing in third place this year.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian from VR46 Racing Team commented: ‘Like all riders, I dream big, but I’ve also learned to keep my feet firmly on the ground. At the end of the winter tests, I want to draw a line and realistically define my goals for 2024’.
Next year, Bezzecchi will have Fabio Di Giannantonio as his teammate and admitted he was surprised by Luca Marini’s move to Repsol Honda:
– Before signing the contract with VR46, I honestly didn’t know Luca would move to Honda, also because I know it was a last-minute decision. That said, I maintain the same enthusiasm I had when I signed my contract with Vale’s [Rossi] team. I’ve always gotten along well with Luca, and it will be strange not to see him in the boxes, as we’ve had the same setup for years. Undoubtedly, Luca made the best decision for his career, and I believe he did well.
Regarding his decision to stay with VR46 when he had the chance to move to Pramac with an updated bike, #72 explained: ‘It was a choice made with the heart, but I won’t hide that I thought a lot about what I would do. Nowadays, MotoGP isn’t an easy environment, and you can’t afford to choose the wrong path. I’m happy to be where I am because I always make it a habit to give my best, and the conditions must be provided to do so: the VR46 team can give me the conditions to ride giving 100%’.
