This week, Eastern Australia was battered by severe storms, including torrential rains, hail, and winds of up to 100km/h. Thousands of people were left without electricity, and many homes and structures were severely damaged, in addition to more than a dozen reported fatalities.
Casey Stoner was heavily affected. The two-time MotoGP world champion saw his home in Gold Coast sustain significant damage, but he and his family remained safe. Taking to social media, Stoner shared the extent of the damage and made an appeal to help those in need:
– I’m not sure anybody knows quite how serious the storm was in certain areas on the Gold Coast, photos do not do justice the sheer amount of damage in our area, and if you have any available hands to throw people’s way as they’ve lost their homes, I know there is a huge amount of help needed. We are so blessed everybody in our home is safe and even though there is a lot of damage to our property we are not the most in need!
The Australian’s house has two floors, including a gym, sauna, and pool, as well as a wine cellar and even a home cinema.
