Last year, Marco Bezzecchi had the opportunity to move to Prima Pramac in MotoGP for 2024, replacing Johann Zarco to ride a Ducati Desmosedici GP24. However, he chose to stay with the VR46 Racing Team, knowing he would have the previous year’s version of the bike.
The rider told SPEEDWEEK.com that his decision wasn’t solely based on his heart: ‘Of course, I always give importance to what makes me feel good. But it’s not just a decision from the heart. Behind it, there’s a precise consideration that I agreed with myself because I know myself. I’ve been thinking about what could be best for me’.
Bezzecchi explained further: ‘In MotoGP nowadays, you have to be immediately fast. In my mind, I tried in various ways to understand if I could have immediately reached the same speed with other people, because you have to be there in no time’.
