This 2024 will bring some more news into the FIM World Championships, with the inaugural season of the women’s championship, something that Gregorio Lavilla sees with a lot of excitement.
The WorldSBK Executive Director spoke about the subject on Motosan.es and how things will happen: ‘This is a project that it was decided that our platform would be the most suitable to start with. We are very excited. There has been a lot of work throughout the season to do it in the best possible way, in the most sustainable way possible… And I’m really looking forward to seeing how many entries there will be and it’s going to be a live project’.
Lavilla then highlighted that everything is, and was made, in order to this championship works out well in the best possible way: ‘If it doesn’t turn out well, it won’t be because we haven’t tried and it will also be the reality of what we all talk about sometimes promoting and then not supporting. In the project, for it to work out better, the more help you have, the better. We are going to set up a platform that is as sustainable in terms of the possibilities that we have been able to find’, and added:
– And if on top of that, if they get on board, there are already companies that have supported us in this project, and Dorna for its part is making all the efforts in terms of management. But it is clear that the more resources we have, the bigger we can make it.
