It was in 2021 that Pedro Acosta made his debut in the Moto3 World Championship, quickly making an impact. In his first year, he became the champion but also lost a career of gradual progression with his meteoric rise.
In a documentary by DAZN, the rider who moves up to MotoGP this year commented on his Moto3 season: ‘I arrived in the World Championship, and after seven races, they were already considering me as the world champion. They bring you in to win, not for what I did but to win. I lost many things, like enjoying what a small team is, that gradually promotes you. From there on, I couldn’t go back. It’s true that if you ask me if I would make the same decision, I would say the same thing would happen again’.
After a year in Moto3, Acosta moved up to Moto2 in 2022, managing to get into the fight for good results after a more challenging start. This year, he became the clear champion before moving up to the premier class.
