Even without any titles on his resume, Dani Pedrosa marked an era in MotoGP, where he competed from 2006 to 2018, always with Repsol Honda. Currently, he serves as a test rider for KTM and is an essential part of the Austrian project, demonstrating that he still knows how to compete – as evidenced by his fourth-place finishes in the 2023 San Marino Grand Prix.
DAZN followed the Spaniard’s life in his current role in the documentary «Test Rider: Dani Pedrosa». The regular KTM riders spoke about him, with Brad Binder commenting in the series, quoted by Motosan: ‘It’s impressive to look at Dani and his data. He’s a weapon’.
Jack Miller also praised Pedrosa: ‘He’s a legend; it’s wonderful to have him on our team and working with us’.
In turn, the experienced Pedrosa commented on the renewed format he encountered in the last season in the premier class: ‘It’s harder, the format is much more aggressive. You spend much more energy than before, and having more age makes it more difficult. In my case, being a unique event allows me to give everything, but it’s an aggressive schedule for the riders. In the time when Valentino Rossi was my age, he could win races and be on the podium. He had a lot of merit’.
Regarding what motivates him to be a test rider, the 38-year-old Spaniard said: ‘If I want to continue to be involved in some way, it’s because I love motorcycles’.
