Sustainable mobility solutions are becoming increasingly important and relevant to the industry at a time when humanity faces decisive moments to mitigate the effects of climate change.
In motorcycle racing, one of the first steps towards a green future was the creation of MotoE, featuring fully electric motorcycles. MotoGP is now transitioning to synthetic fuels to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. But could the future also be electric?
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna, said, as quoted by the newspaper Marca, that such a scenario is unthinkable at the moment, pointing to two other paths to achieve greater environmental sustainability:
– That possibility is very distant at the moment. I am more in favor of trying zero contamination through synthetic fuel. The current MotoE bikes have nothing to do with those from five years ago. And if hydrogen becomes a viable solution someday, we’ll see what we can do, always depending on the manufacturers.
