Despite already having the most competitive bike in the field, Ducati continues to work on the Desmosedici GP, with General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna promising greater differences between last year’s GP23 and this year’s GP24 than between the GP22 and GP23.
In the satellite team Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, Marco Bezzecchi will ride the GP23 from the previous season. The Italian was asked about these potential greater differences, to which he replied:
– I agree with Dall’Igna. The difference is a bit bigger compared to last year’s bike. So because of this I can’t wait to ride because I didn’t understand yet how to perform better. I know what to do, but I wasn’t able at all in Valencia, I was missing some steps. I have no idea about the updates.
Pressed to clarify, Bezzecchi responded: ‘In 2022 I rode the 2021 bike and that was my first year in MotoGP. Then last year I jumped on the 2022 and the difference from the 2021 was there, but was nothing crazy. Then in Valencia test I jumped on the 2023 and the difference was a bit bigger of course. And this is also why I still need to understand the bike better’.
