The LCR Honda team has recently confirmed what many had been anticipating: the renewal of the contract with Takaaki Nakagami. As a result, Nakagami will continue to represent the Japanese team for at least another year.
The 31-year-old rider will remain with the team, ensuring another season at the helm of the Honda RC213V. This will mark his seventh year in MotoGP, and he has been with the same team throughout this duration.
While still in search of his peak form, Nakagami stands as the second most experienced rider with Honda, only behind Marc Márquez. This makes him a potentially crucial asset in Honda’s quest for top results.
So far, in the premier class, Nakagami’s best end-of-season ranking was a tenth place in 2020. Currently, in this year’s standings, he is in 17th position with a total of 35 points.
With this announcement, it’s clear that the LCR Honda team’s lineup for 2024 will consist of Johann Zarco and Takaaki Nakagami.
