Ducati and Automobili Lamborghini come together in the name of art at the elegant Galleria Cavour for the “Art of Creating Myths” event. An evening event in Bologna represented the world premiere of “Centauro”, a work of art created by the talent of Paolo Troilo, based on one of the examples of the limited series Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini Speciale Clienti and created following on from “Minotauro”, a painting by the artist in 2021 on the bodywork of a Lamborghini Huracán EVO.
Paolo Troilo (Taranto, 1972) is an Italian artist known for his unique technique of hyper-realistic finger painting, unparalleled in the world. “Centauro” is a work painted using this technique, in the figurative representation of the arms of a man leaning over in acceleration, emerging from both sides of the tank, and is completed with other tools in the abstract geometric decomposition that characterizes the remaining parts of the bike. This work combines myth and reality, incorporating a superhuman strength that merges with rationality, underlined by the shapes and volume of the Streetfighter V4, thus conveying power and a sense of boundless confidence in one’s own abilities.
The idea of “Art of Creating Myths” was born in September 2022 at the same time as the world premiere of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini, the second chapter of the collaboration between the two companies after the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini, With the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini, a motorcycle capable of combining the values of sportiness, exclusivity and fascination is presented in a limited and numbered edition of 630 units, characterized by the color scheme in Green and Dac Orange. But the uniqueness of this project doesn’t end there: in fact, Ducati and Automobili Lamborghini have announced that they have thought of an even more exclusive series of 63 units, called Speciale Cliente, which allowed 63 Lamborghini customers to contact Centro Stile Ducati directly and configure their Lamborghini Ducati Streetfighter V4 with the colors of the superstructures and rims exactly like those of their Lamborghini. Among these 63 customers was also the owner of the “Minotaur”, who asked Ducati, Automobili Lamborghini and artist Paolo Troilo to bring the “Centaur” work of art to life.
The “Art of Creating Myths” event, reserved for 200 guests from Ducati and Lamborghini, was attended by the CEOs of the two companies: Claudio Domenicali and Stephan Winkelmann. The executives had the opportunity to underline the close collaboration between two Italian brands of excellence, which have contributed to writing the history of the Motor Valley and which continue to work in synergy on numerous projects. “Centauro” and “Minotauro” are the perfect example of the beauty that arises from the partnership between two brands recognized throughout the world for their iconic design: a unique and unrepeatable project, in which the talent of an internationally recognized artist has made it possible to create a strong link with the world of art, in a combination of dynamism, power and emotions.
The event on Thursday 1 February, organized in collaboration by Ducati and Automobili Lamborghini, is part of ART CITY Bologna and represents part of the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer’s participation in the 2024 edition of Arte Fiera. Ducati is, in fact, a partner of the important modern and contemporary art fair in Bologna, supporting the “Percorso”, the itinerary that connects some of the galleries through the common theme of drawing, and establishing the “Officina Arte Ducati Award” for the most deserving “Percorso” work. In addition, during the opening period of Arte Fiera (February 2-4), Ducati will exhibit the marble sculpture “Fortitudo Mea in Levitate” in Halls 25 and 26.
“Centaur” and “Minotaur” will remain on public display at the Galleria Cavour, another luxurious space of excellence in the Bologna area until February 5, 2024.
