Since yesterday, Lorenzo Savadori has been one of the riders participating in the MotoGP shakedown in Sepang. The Aprilia test rider has already tested several new features on the RS-GP, particularly in aerodynamics, and is pleased with the sensations.
The Italian stated to GPOne.com that he feels noticeable differences: ‘It may not seem like it from the outside, but in the seat, I think I’m a very sensitive rider, and the difference between one aerodynamics and another is tangible. This year we might see some good surprises on the track’.
Despite confirming clear progress from Aprilia, Savadori explained that, for now, he has to remain reserved: ‘The step forward has been made, and it is evident, but I can’t specify. Not only with you [the media], nor can I express myself with the riders, because then they will have to test the bikes in their turn’.
On the other hand, the rider talked about the abundance of material to test: ‘There is a lot of work, and we have a lot of material to try. This is a very good sign because it means that even at home, they are working hard in the competition department. So, there are also several aerodynamic solutions’.
