The announcement came this morning: Davide Brivio will be the team principal of Trackhouse Racing in MotoGP, thus returning to the premier class of two-wheeled racing after his stint with Alpine in Formula 1.
Trackhouse team manager, Wilco Zeelenberg, spoke about the hiring of the Italian: ‘We all know Davide very well and he has the ambition and the passion for motorsports. But especially he has this political finishing touch explaining the press, the sponsors, and the way to manage to grow the team and the sport. To find the budget and to explain everything, what you need to perform with a MotoGP team. He proved that a couple of times, we don’t need to explain when and how. But he did that and that’s a big benefit in this sport’.
Zeelenberg added: ‘We are all very passionated, but that’s not all that you need always. You also need to have the capacity to get the things done and especially getting money floating in the right ways to the right people and hiring the right staff for the future, have a vision’.
