Álex Márquez was one of the few riders to lap in the 1m56s range during the MotoGP test in Sepang. The Gresini rider finished in fourth position overall over the three days, just 0.256s behind the leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).
As for his brother and teammate, Marc Márquez, he was slower, finishing in sixth place. Still in the adaptation phase to the bike and the team, the six-time world champion commented on Álex Márquez’s performance, stating:
– Álex was the winner of the Sprint race here three months ago and he was on the front row if I remember well. And he was second on the race. He was very fast on Thursday and this is very good to the team also. In the time attack he did an incredible lap time behind the three factory Ducati and this is positive. Then on the race pace we were closer, but he was also super fast. And of course I wish the best for my teammate and my brother.
