At 19 years old, Iván Ortolá will enter his third season in the Moto3 World Championship. The Angeluss MTA Team rider has the stability of remaining with the team and on the same bike – a KTM – and after securing his first two victories last year, he now aims to contend for the championship.
In an interview with the website Motosan.es, the Spanish rider left no doubt about his intentions for 2024: ‘The goal is clear, and it’s to fight for the championship. That entails many other things, such as luck, and much more. Ultimately, a championship is a combination of everything. But I believe we have what it takes, and we can fight for it’.
And who might be Ortolá’s opponents? The rider replied: ‘There will be several rivals. I think there will be five clear riders who will always be in the fight, like [Collin] Veijer, [Daniel] Holgado, [David] Alonso. Also, there will be [David] Muñoz, [José Antonio] Rueda… and then surely there will be some rookies. They are strong riders, and it won’t be easy, but I believe I am also a strong rider, and we have good chances’.
