After making a good impression in Sepang, Pedro Acosta will have two more days to prepare for the new MotoGP season. The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider, making his debut in the premier class, now faces the Qatar tests at Losail.
Speaking to the press, the Spaniard commented: ‘I’m happy to change the track, to be honest, because after six days riding in Malaysia was quite boring. I remember the last night we spent there, before the last day, I said: «I want to back home now!». I’m happy to be back, I’m happy to have many things to try before the first race of the season. Let’s see; try to be calm. It’s a new track, only two days. I think this will be the first test that we are going to have to see how fast we can manage ourselves and how fast we can be to adapt ourselves to a new track, try to manage the bike. But I think it’s going to be good’.
Regarding the plan for the test, Acosta said: ‘At the end make a strong base. We have some things to try, I don’t know what to be honest. Also, we will make a full race simulation in the second day I think. It’s going to be nice’.
The rookie also said he faces this test withouth expectations: ‘Let’s see how is this track, also with the sun that we have now on track, with the wind that is quite strong at the moment. But in Malaysia I was quite well; here we have to start from zero, don’t have expectations. Malaysia was quite unreal, so let’s see if we can continue with this dream’.
