After two world titles and seeming to be the strongest candidate to be champion in 2024, Francesco Bagnaia is at the end of his contract with Ducati. The mutual desire seems to be to continue the project, but the truth is that, so far, nothing has been signed.
Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi explained to the championship’s official website that discussions are ongoing, but without any rush or deadline – although the intention is to close the renewal as soon as possible:
– We are discussing the last details with his management. We are not in a rush, Pecco is already concentraded in the 2024 championship and to see how will be the first race in Qatar. We are trying to finalise as soon as possible, there is not a deadline, both parties want to stay together – Pecco wants to stay at Ducati, we absolutely want that Pecco stays with us. So I think is just a matter of time. We are trying to do it as soon as possible, but again, with no rush.
