Since his MotoGP debut in 2019, Joan Mir has only been with two teams – Suzuki, led by Davide Brivio until 2020, and now Repsol Honda, with Alberto Puig at the helm.
After more than a year at Honda, the 2020 world champion was asked to compare the two team bosses he worked with – this as Brivio returns to MotoGP, but with Trackhouse Racing. Mir commented:
– One thing they have in common is that they always speak with the rider, they always try to be very close to the rider – probably Alberto even more. Brivio showed in the past the leadership he had in Suzuki was very good. He built a team from zero and this is something very difficult. They have some differences, but regarding how they approach the relationship with the rider, they are very similar.
