There are alarming signs for Jorge Martín after the MotoGP tests in Qatar. The Pramac rider faced many difficulties during the Sprint race simulation on the last day, admitting that he still has no solution to the problems. It is worth noting that Losail will host the Qatar Grand Prix, which marks the start of the season and was already a very challenging circuit for Martín in 2023.
Speaking to DAZN, the Spanish rider said: ‘The truth is that I was feeling good all day, I was very comfortable and well prepared for the race weekend. But when I put on the last tire to do the Sprint simulation, I started to have problems. I had already experienced some vibration issues during this test, and we don’t know exactly why. And we don’t have a solution’.
Martín admitted that there is room for improvement, as something is wrong with his bike: ‘Something is not working well, I can’t ride as I want; especially when accelerating, the vibrations are very noticeable. And the simulation was a disaster. I tried to hang on, the pace was nothing special – better than the first day, but far from Pecco [Bagnaia]. I crashed entering turn 14. We need to improve, especially in acceleration because we have a lot of vibration, which surely wears the tire out more. Nothing is working at the moment’.
