Pedro Acosta is one of the most talented riders of the new generation and arrives in MotoGP this year with much promise. He is currently linked to KTM, making his debut with the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 satellite team.
The newspaper Marca asked Pol Espargaró whether he believes in a long stay for the young rider with the Austrian manufacturer. In response, #44 stated: ‘I would like him to stay at KTM. We cannot let a talent like this slip away. I think Pedro also wants to stay, but it is evident that it depends on whether the results work out at KTM and GasGas, whether GasGas or KTM work out, and that gives him the understanding that he can also succeed’.
In Espargaró’s view, Brad Binder may demonstrate that potential to Acosta: ‘Perhaps Brad Binder has that role, as he is a great rider and is in the best moment of maturity, and if he can achieve results, Pedro can tell himself: «Well, if Brad can do it, I can too», and then he can follow in their footsteps maybe in the KTM team if one of the two leaves, in that case it would have to be Jack Miller because Brad has a contract until 2026, but I would like him to stay’.
