David Alonso once again topped the timesheets on the second day of Moto3 testing in Jerez, held this Thursday. The official lap record of the Andalusian circuit was broken, just like yesterday.
In the second of the three sessions, almost all riders set their best times. Alonso (CFMoto Aspar Team) clocked in at 1m43.315s to outpace José Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) by a clear 0.325s – the Spaniard had led the opening session of the day. Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) finished third, 0.501s behind.
The top five was completed by the MT Helmets-MSi/KTM duo, with Ivan Ortolá in fourth and Ryusei Yamanaka in fifth. Adrián Fernández (Leopard Racing/Honda) in sixth was over a second off the leader’s pace. Only two riders improved their times in the final session of the day: Matteo Bertelle (Rivacold Snipers Team/Honda), who finished 14th, and Filippo Farioli (SIC58 Squadra Corse/Honda), who ended up 20th.
