KTM has added Pol Espargaró to its MotoGP test rider lineup, but Jonas Folger will continue in his role – a position he took on last year. Additionally, Dani Pedrosa will also have these responsibilities.
Confirmation came from the German himself, as cited by the site SPEEDWEEK.com: ‘I am very pleased to be part of the KTM test team in 2024 and to be able to further expand our cooperation if possible. It will be an intense year, but I am looking forward to the tasks ahead and am highly motivated to face them. I will do my best to continue improving as a test rider and to always be in the best possible shape for any potential races so that I can meet the expectations placed on me. A big thank you to everyone who has trusted me with these highly important tasks’.
Folger will primarily ride the KTM RC16 but will also participate in other projects of the Pierer Mobility Group. In 2023, he was called upon as a replacement for the injured Espargaró at GasGas Tech3 in several rounds.
