It may be in 2025 that Fermín Aldeguer joins the MotoGP World Championship, with speculation from the Spanish press that he will join Prima Pramac while being contractually linked to Ducati. The rider had already been mentioned as a possible replacement for Luca Marini at VR46 after the Italian moved to Repsol Honda this year.
For now, they’re just rumors, but Aldeguer was asked about them by DAZN, replying: ‘It’s always nice when people talk about me in this way because it fills me with motivation that everyone is talking about my jump to MotoGP. Ultimately, it’s the dream I’ve had since I was little. It’s not that things are going wrong, they’re going well, and on top of that, they’re talking about me. In the end, that’s also what we’re looking for; the options are there and will come up in the end. We’ve found options, but nothing is finalized yet, so we need to wait and focus’.
At the moment, Aldeguer is focused on the task at hand this year, aiming to fight for the Moto2 title: ‘Being realistic, we’ll fight for the World Championship. It’s true that we still have to gather a lot of information, both about the bike and the tires, but we can’t think about that. Last year, I finished third unexpectedly. All we have left is to win’.
