This weekend, at the Qatar GP, Álex Rins will compete in his first race as a Monster Energy Yamaha rider in MotoGP. Confident and fit, the rider begins a new chapter in his career, riding for the third different manufacturer.
Before the Losail race, the Spanish rider stated: ‘I’m very good, very good. We spent some days here in Qatar; after the test I’ve been here, my family came, so we spent a good quality time. Training, focusing for the first GP weekend, and I’m really excited to finally start officialy this new adventure with Yamaha. Let’s see how it goes. We’ll give our 100%. The tests were good, we improved a little bit the bike compared to the last year. Overall we still have to improve the bike, the set-up, many small things to improve. But we are on the way’.
Regarding his physical condition, Rins mentioned that he doesn’t feel any problems on the bike: ‘Physically I’m quite good. I’m quite good on the bike and I’m feeling very, very low pain – almost nothing. Walking around and things like this is more difficult, I’m feeling more pain. Maybe it comes from the bolts, from the surgery. But overall I can say I’m maybe at 100%’.
