It seems increasingly inevitable that Jorge Martín will leave the Pramac Racing team after this MotoGP season. The rider has the ambition to move up to the Ducati factory team and has already said that if he doesn’t get that seat, he will look elsewhere for another manufacturer.
Pramac team manager Gino Borsoi himself admitted to Motorsport.com that the Spaniard is unlikely to continue: ‘Personally, I believe that Jorge’s time with Pramac, like it or not, has come to an end. He has been with us for several years, he started in the first year in MotoGP, and we are in our fourth year. The next step has to be the factory bike, whether at Ducati or elsewhere’.
The Italian has no doubt that Martín deserves credit for making the desired leap: ‘He continues to prove that he is one of the fastest, or perhaps the fastest alongside Pecco [Bagnaia], and he deserves, in addition to a great season with us this year, to have a factory bike next year’.
