Barcelona is hosting World Superbike tests since yesterday. One of the big news is Michele Pirro, who is riding with Aruba.it Ducati. The Italian has a more open schedule than in previous years since the Borgo Panigale manufacturer doesn’t have many testing opportunities and cannot make wildcards in MotoGP.
Thus, Pirro was called to test in WSBK, and Ducati Corse’s technical coordinator, Marco Zambenedetti, explained to the championship’s official website that the Italian is a valuable asset:
– First of all, we are here to prepare for the round weekend as that’s always important. […]. The good weather gives us the possibility to setup the bike and test something new. Many of the things aren’t visible because they’re more about power delivery and the character of the engine with the new fuel control. There is also the test team that will help us improve the bike with Michele Pirro, who, especially in these areas, we can get the best from his experience in MotoGP.
