Johann Zarco performed well at the Qatar GP in MotoGP, securing the 12th place as the top Honda rider, despite being in the LCR Honda satellite team.
In an interview with TNT Sports, the Frenchman discussed Sunday’s race at Losail: ‘I had less speed, I couldn’t fight with the other riders as I wanted at the start of the race, at least I didn’t feel a great vibration like on Saturday. It would have been difficult to ask for much more for the weekend’.
The opening round also served to gain experience with his new team and the bike… even admitting that it seems easier to ride than the Ducati he had in 2023: ‘We gathered good information. Portimão has a different track. I hope to verify what the bike’s behavior will be to continue learning. The bike also has good things. Regarding the sensations, it was the best transition I could expect because the way to ride the Honda is almost easier than the Ducati. The Honda is slower. It’s a pleasure to be on top of the bike, but it’s evident that we need to improve the lap time’.
