Jack Miller had a disappointing Qatar GP, where, unlike his Red Bull KTM teammate Brad Binder, he was unable to fight for good results. Next is the Portuguese GP, where #43 hopes to perform considerably better.
The Australian told the press: ‘I’m happy to be back here in Portimão. I’m looking forward to it, it should be a good weekend. I’m looking forward to put Qatar behind us as quick as possible and moving on. We had a decent pace there throughout the weekend, I just wasn’t really able to show it in both races. So I had a good weekend at home, regrouping, realigning to try to come back here and show our full potential’.
On the other hand, Miller highlighted the improvements to the bike over the past year: ‘We have made some significant improvements since Portimão last year, so I’m looking forward to take this 2024 KTM around here’.
As for the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve track, Miller likes it, as it offers some overtaking opportunities: ‘I like a lot, it has a lot of character. It’s not very conventional, it’s quite different, which is nice. We go to a lot of race tracks nowadays that are quite similar, let’s say. […]. It’s not easy to overtake at all in MotoGP, but at least in this track we have a few opportunities. […]. It’s always difficult to pass in MotoGP, here or in another place. But as we’ve seen in the past, I think this track creates some pretty decent racing. […]. It’s not intimidating. It is intimidating when it’s windy like a hell and you get the wheelie in the front straight. But in terms of the hills and the ups and downs and so on, not really’.
