Jack Miller finished the Portuguese GP race in fifth position. The Australian was very consistent throughout the weekend, leading the Sprint race for several laps, but in Sunday’s race he couldn’t keep up with his rivals and teammate Brad Binder.
In a debrief, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider spoke about the feelings he had during the race and throughout the weekend.
– ‘It was a good weekend, I was trying to keep up with the pace of the frontrunners, but unfortunately I lacked some speed today, in the second and third sectors I had pace, but in the last one I lacked the pace to keep up and I couldn’t compensate for the “yo yo” effect. Overall we can draw positive conclusions from this race, we have an excellent bike with great potential and we’ve improved in all areas, we just need to get all this potential out of the bike.
Asked about Pedro Acosta’s great performance during the race, Jack replied:
– ‘I didn’t even have a chance, overall it was a great day, Pedro rode really well today. There was nothing I could do to stop him, he was very good on the bike. Now I’ve got a good chance at circuits I really like, we just have to improve little things and understand the bike better, I felt I rode really well this weekend and I think we can be very competitive.
