Triumph Motorcycles has launched a striking new special edition Trident 660, with a dynamic and contemporary graphic scheme designed to appeal to new Triumph and Triumph Shift-Assist fans.
New for 2024, the Trident Triple Tribute celebrates Triumph’s legendary three-cylinder engines and will be available for one year only. This hugely popular naked roadster is now available with a distinctive graphic scheme, which is a contemporary version of Triumph’s iconic “white, blue and red” racing livery and features the “67” number graphic that once adorned the most famous Trident in history, the “Slippery Sam”.
The distinctive and unique performance of the three-cylinder engine and the Trident’s appreciated maneuverability will be further enhanced with the addition of Triumph Shift Assist, adding to an already impressive specification and equipment list for its class. The colors combined with the ‘fly screen’ and ‘belly pan’, included as standard, lend an even more exclusive character to the Trident’s distinctive styling, displaying the exceptional standard of detail and finish that is synonymous with Triumph.
EXCLUSIVE TRIPLE TRIBUTE EDITION DESIGN
The Trident Triple Tribute has a stunning modern design, inspired by Triumph’s most celebrated three-cylinder motorcycle of all time, ‘Slippery Sam’, which is the only bike to win five production TT races in five consecutive years, from 1971 to 1975. The white, blue and red scheme, with matching fly screen and belly pan, stands out in the clean, minimalist lines, beautiful silhouette and confidence-inspiring balance of the Trident.
The distinctive tank design with the number 67 surrounds the unique knee cut-outs, complementing the flowing seat line. With impeccable attention to detail, the Trident 660 features high-quality Triumph badges on the headlight and taillight, and the logo on the fuel filler cap, handlebar clamp and instruments, plus an inlaid aluminum Trident badge with diamond-machined details. Radiator covers in the color of the bike, an aluminum steering table and heel guards, fork protectors in the color of the bike, tapered aluminum handlebars and teardrop-shaped rear-view mirrors, with five-spoke, black, lightweight cast aluminum rims, complete the eye-catching look.
PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE OF THE THREE-CYLINDER ENGINE
With a dedicated Trident tune, the popular 660 cc three-cylinder engine has been developed to deliver the character and performance benefits of a ‘three-cylinder’ to riders in the middleweight sport naked category, providing the perfect balance between low torque, mid-range and top-end power. A deep, distinctive three-cylinder soundtrack is delivered through a compact, minimalist silencer with a premium stainless steel finish.
Fully Euro 5 compliant, the engine delivers a maximum power of 81 hp @ 10,250 rpm with a progressive, smooth and linear delivery, as well as a maximum torque of 64 Nm @ 6,250 rpm. An A2 conversion kit is available in Europe with
including the A2-specific APS grip and an exclusive engine tune, which restricts maximum power to 47 hp, or 35 kW, and maximum torque to 59 Nm. The bike can be further restricted at the dealer, once the rider has completed the levels on their license.
The smooth six-speed Trident gearbox, with gear ratios and final drive optimized to make the riding experience easy and fun, is further enhanced by the addition of Triumph Shift Assist, included as standard on this special edition. This quickshifter allows clutchless upshifts and downshifts, with an autoblipper on downshifts for quick, seamless changes
