Fermín Aldeguer is undeniably one of the main figures of the Moto2 world championship at the moment and once again showed his potential, at Portugal, showing why Ducati didn’t held back when it came to hire him right away for 2025. After the race in Portimão he confessed he left not particularly happy.
For the Beta Tools SpeedUp Team the race in Portugal was marked by a double Long Lap penalty due to the fact his bike wasn’t completely stand still at the start of the Moto2 race, which costed him, at the end, a severe penalization in a race he felt he could «easily» win: ‘I went home with a bitter sweet taste because on sunday we had the pace and speed to win the race hands down’.
Still there were reason to be happy about as explained: ‘However, I am satisfied with the result because we made a great comeback after the two long laps. In addition, the feeling on the Boscoscuro was great, so much so that I felt the same sensations I felt in the last four races of last season’.
