An image that appears to be from a future product presentation by Chinese brand Voge has surfaced online, revealing ambitious expansion plans until 2026, which include the introduction of several BMW-based models, including derivatives of the K 1600 GT and the S 1000 RR.
The image shows six new models planned to be introduced during 2024, another six with launches in 2025 and the final six to be presented in 2026. The most intriguing machines will appear at the end of that three-year period. This indicates that the long-standing bond between Voge’s parent company Loncin and BMW will deepen in the coming years.
Loncin and BMW have almost two decades of history, with the Chinese company signing its first agreement with the German brand in 2005 and starting to manufacture engines for BMW in 2007. A renewed agreement in 2015 extended the cooperation, with Loncin manufacturing complete motorcycles for BMW, such as the C 400 X and C 400 GT scooters, as well as the twin-cylinder engines used in the F series motorcycles. Loncin’s Voge brand is a more recent addition and a key part of the company’s international expansion plans. Voge already offers a growing range of motorcycles throughout Europe, as well as in parts of South America, Asia and Africa.
The models that will be presented in 2024 include some with which we are already familiar. Along with a pair of 150 cc scooters comes the DS900X, which was presented at last year’s EICMA show (an adventure bike built around the 895 cc twin-cylinder from BMW’s F 900 models), and the RR660R, a four-cylinder sports bike that was presented last year as the RR666S prototype. Voge recently approved the RR660R in China, with documents that include the first images and specifications of the production version of the bike. This machine is equipped with a 663 cc, 100 hp four-cylinder engine, has relatively high suspension, Brembo brakes and styling very similar to the RR666S concept.
Another as-yet-unreleased 2024 model featured in the plan is the CU250, a 27 hp cruiser that was also recently leaked through Chinese type approvals ahead of its official unveiling, and a new 350RR sports bike that will probably replace the existing Voge 300RR, using the 40 hp twin-cylinder engine from the company’s latest 350AC roadster instead of the existing 300cc model with 28 hp.
For launches planned for 2025, the RR250 sports bike and an intriguing RR460R are planned – the latter of which could be another two-cylinder or perhaps a four-cylinder to compete with models such as Kove’s 450RR and Kawasaki’s Ninja ZX-4RR. There’s also an adventure bike, mysteriously titled “DSXXX” (so as not to give any clues as to its capacity), and another adventure model, the DS750 Rally, potentially using a smaller version of BMW’s twin-cylinder engine. Finally, there’s the CU520V cruiser (with a V-twin engine) and the SR350 ADV scooter, which will probably share its powertrain with BMW’s C 400 models (which actually use a 350cc engine despite their “400” names).
It is in 2026 that the most interesting elements of the link with BMW emerge. In addition to the self-made models, including an R660-R naked bike based on the RR660R four-cylinder platform, the CU1000V cruiser and the SR500 maxi-scooter, the list includes a 1600GT tourer – illustrated in Voge’s plan with a drawing of a bike that looks exactly like BMW’s six-cylinder K 1600 GT – and an RR1000 superbike that is illustrated with a drawing of a BMW S 1000 RR. These two machines show Voge’s intention to compete with rivals CFMOTO and QJMotor, both in China and internationally. CFMoto already has a BMW-type tourer in the form of its 1250TR-G with a KTM engine on the Chinese market, and plans to launch its own 1000cc superbike with a V-4 engine and 200 hp. Meanwhile, QJMotor has its own tourer – sold under the Benelli brand as the 1200GT and using a version of Benelli’s big three-cylinder engine – and is borrowing MV Agusta’s 1,078cc four-cylinder engine for its future superbike.
