During a longer break in the World Superbike Championship, Nicolò Bulega took the opportunity to undergo surgery on his right arm two weeks ago. The goal was to address compartment syndrome issues.
According to GPOne.com, the Aruba.it Ducati rookie is now undergoing physiotherapy to regain fitness before the next round of the championship – which is in Assen next week.
Meanwhile, Bulega used social media to update followers on his health status. In a very graphic picture posted on Instagram Stories, his operated arm with several stitches is visible.
It will only be in Assen next week that it can be determined to what extent the recovery has been complete or if the Italian will be affected in any way in his performance.
After two rounds, Bulega has three podiums, including a victory, and leads the championship. He has a slim 12-point lead over teammate Álvaro Bautista and Alex Lowes (Kawasaki).
