Raul Fernández finished the Sprint race in 9th position. The Spanish rider finished inside the points for the first time this season, after two GPs without scoring.
In his debrief, the Trackhouse Racing Team driver talked about the feelings he had throughout the Sprint race.
– ‘When you’re in Q1 it’s a lottery, it’s not easy, but I think 13th in qualifying isn’t bad. We did a very good Sprint. I said yesterday that the bike is better and my feeling with the bike is much better. I can do what I want with the bike, but we want more, we’ll try to score more points in the race because the first two races weren’t what we wanted.
Asked about the feeling of improving on the bike and whether it could influence his confidence, Raul replied: ‘It’s important to leave here with good feelings and arrive in Europe well. We’re working well and it will be very important for me to arrive in Jerez confident with the bike. It will be difficult to attack on this circuit because of the trajectory, but we’ll see. We’ll have to figure out how to manage things during the race.’
