Contrary to what has been happening in the last races a Ducati rider wasn’t the one who got to win on sunday as Maverick Viñales and Pedro Acosta were the main riders on track, taking first and second. This is something Davide Tardozzi doesn’t want to see much more, as it can mess with the italian manufacturer ambitions in the championship.
Speaking to Sky, quoted on Motosan, the Team Manager of the Ducati factory team was happy to see the good performance of his bike: ‘Thanks to Viñales and Acosta, they made the difference during the weekend. I am happy to see that the Ducati group is behind, from third to sixth place, as a bike we have confirmed the performance. We must work to improve even more and give more performance to our riders’.
He then set his attention on the Aprilia Racing and the rookie of the category, even saying he is somewhat afraid of what he can do: ‘Viñales is a talent, he has had ups and downs in his career, he managed to win with three different brands. Acosta will be one of the riders who will compete in the world championship in the future and I fear for us that he can do it again this year’.
For the italian, both riders have good bikes but Ducati is in good shape, having the championship leader and others that are showing up after a complicated 2023:
– They are supported by good bikes and they are making a difference. Ducati still has very competitive riders, we have the World Champion, we have [Jorge] Martín at the top of the championship, we have [Enea] Bastianini second in the standings, for sure we are not going to be discouraged in a race that went very well because we didn’t win. There are 36 races left and the championship is still long.
