Bad news for Team HRC in Assen. Iker Lecuona got injured during the third free practice of the World Superbike Championship at the Dutch circuit and will not be able to continue racing this Saturday.
The crash occurred at Turn 16, and as a result, the Spanish rider was examined at the medical center. After not participating in the Superpole, he was evaluated again, revealing a concussion in his right knee that prevents him from racing.
Therefore, experiencing pain in the area, Lecuona was declared unfit for the first race of the weekend. However, a return to action tomorrow is still possible.
After the warm-up, the Spaniard’s physical condition will be reassessed. Then, he may or may not receive clearance to participate in the Superpole race and the second race.
