Honda showed up at the MotoGP test in Jerez a week ago with a new specification of the RC213V. However, the bike doesn’t seem to have impressed the riders much in terms of immediate performance gains.
Johann Zarco, from LCR Honda, told the championship’s official website: ‘It has been interesting to do all these laps. The new bike… we expected better from this new bike and we didn’t have the speed that we want yet. Some areas could work better, but some others are worse’.
Despite the difficulties in finding the necessary bike setup, Zarco is confident and encouraged by Honda’s work: ‘This balance seems pretty difficult to find to have a very competitive bike. But I’m so impressed by the work Honda is doing and that gives a lot of motivation to keep pushing’.
Finally, Zarco mentioned: ‘At the moment I’m feeling more comfortable on my bike, so that’s why we are going to work on it still for the next Grand Prix’.
