Ducati still has one of the most coveted seats in MotoGP in 2025 to fill. Currently, that seat belongs to Enea Bastianini, who has not yet renewed. There are many contenders, such as the current championship leader Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) or even Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati), in addition to Bastianini himself.
Danilo Petrucci addressed the issue in an interview with GPOne.com, considering that the Italian couldn’t fully demonstrate his worth in 2023 due to injuries, and recognizing that Martín deserves the seat:
– I really feel for Enea because I don’t think he achieved as much as he could have without last year’s injury. I don’t think he has fully expressed his potential at the factory Ducati, and I hope he succeeds. Martín clearly would like to go to the factory Ducati, and he deserves it, as does [Marco] Bezzecchi. I’m rooting for him.
Petrucci hopes, above all, that the decision is well-considered, without any rush or in the heat of the moment: ‘In the end, I think they will evaluate the results. It won’t be easy. The only thing I hope is that they don’t make hasty decisions based on the moment’.
