Augusto Fernández arrives at the Le Mans circuit with unconvincing results so far. Pedro Acosta’s teammate crashed at the Jerez GP and failed to score another point.
In a debrief, the Spanish driver spoke about his expectations for this weekend.
– Let’s see if we finally make a move here. I’ve been saying for the last few weeks that it’s not a big thing I’m missing on the bike. We didn’t arrive in great shape to perform like we did last year, but we’re confident. I had a crash at turn seven in Jerez, in testing we discovered some things that may or may not work, but we have to stay positive, we have some ideas for the weekend. We’re going to try a few things here that might work. I still don’t feel 100% with the bike, here it’s a more demanding circuit when braking, it’s not as fluid as in Jerez.
Asked about his opinion of the new regulations for 2027, Augusto replied: ‘What will be most different will be the way of riding without the devices, the aerodynamics could also affect some riders, which could help some riders in their performance.
