Trackhouse Racing made its debut in MotoGP this year, but its two riders are nearing the end of their contracts. Miguel Oliveira and Raúl Fernández have not yet defined their future, and there is speculation that at least one of them may leave to make room for Joe Roberts. However, team boss Davide Brivio seems to prefer keeping things as they are.
The Italian stated in an interview with the championship’s official website this Saturday that there are ambitions to make Trackhouse Racing a force in the paddock: ‘To be very honest, as Trackhouse we have our own ambitions in terms of trying to establish a good team, able to fight for the best possible position. So we are also looking at how to improve the team, how to grow up, how to make it better and better every time – not necessarly to grow up young riders for Aprilia’.
Despite not ruling out developing young riders, Brivio emphasized that he is happy with Fernández and Oliveira, believes in both their possibilities, and intends to keep the team as it is:
– Of course it’s always interesting, exciting and passionating to bring young riders and growing up – also in my previous experiences I did that a few times and it’s very exciting. When it works, you find great talents and then it’s good; otherwise, trying to go for the best possible riders for the result. Starting from Miguel and Raúl – they are talented, they have the experience, so they have all the possibilities to do well. For the moment we would like to keep going like this, looking for better and better results.
